Position Summary
The School of Liberal Arts is looking for part-time faculty who are able to teach in the Academic Literacies department. Candidates will be responsible for teaching developmental integrated reading and writing courses focused on preparing students for college-level writing assignments for academic audiences. Courses will focus on critical writing, reading, and thinking strategies in academic contexts.
Successful applicants will need to be comfortable working with students from a variety of backgrounds and with differing levels of academic preparation.
The AACC Academic Literacies Department offers courses at our Main Campus in Arnold, as well as our satellite locations at Arundel Mills and Glen Burnie Towne Center. Daytime, evening, and online sections are available.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include: assessing student progress in meeting the learning objectives through formal and informal assessment, meeting required deadlines for submitting grades, attendance, and other information, as requested, and adhering to safety procedures and departmental standards.
Required Qualifications:
Hold a bachelor’s degree in an educational or writing intensive field such as adult education, reading, English, or developmental education.
Minimum of two years of related full-time professional experience teaching2 reading at a secondary level or above.
Must be able to teach in a face-to-face, in person capacity.
Experience with Online teaching in both synchronous and asynchronous formats.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree preferred.
