Work Mode: This position requires regular in-person presence on campus and at alternative locations, depending on class schedule and other assigned duties.

Position Summary

Part time faculty position located at the Arnold campus. Instructor is responsible for classroom and lab instruction in the Sterile Processing field. The instructor is to follow the curriculum outline and learning expectations as provided. Content is housed in Canvas (online learning platform). Instructor must have some computer experience, expertise in the sterile processing field or higher and the ability to effectively manage a classroom. Prior teaching experience is not required. A desire to share your knowledge of the sterile processing field is a must! Instructors will be required to adhere to Anne Arundel Community College’s Part-Time Faculty Instructional policies and procedures, as well as the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) policies and procedures.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare materials needed for instruction, labs, and supplies;
Relate instruction and material to course objectives;
Discuss and demonstrate workplace safety, personal/patient safety and infection control;
Communicate effectively and efficiently with students, other faculty and staff;
Submit grades, attendance, reports and records in a timely manner;
Evaluate student performance in classroom, skills lab and clinical environments
Experience teaching in online and face2face formats
Prepare students to sit for the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) exam.

Required Qualifications:

• Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification or the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) certification is requiired
• 3 years Sterile Processing experience is required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience teaching sterile processing preferred.
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) supervisory experience is preferred.

Classes take place on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, at Anne Arundel Community College, Arundel Mills campus.

Manager of Workplace Safety & Risk Management

Risk Management
The Manager of Workplace Safety & Risk Management is responsible for the college’s insurance program and works closely with college administrators and the college’s insurance broker to identify and select coverages and mitigate risk. This position administers the college’s workplace safety programs and provides safety and PPE training to campus personnel. The position also coordinates the pick-up, removal, and proper disposal of hazardous waste materials for the campus in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Lab Assistant, Part Time

Biology
The Biology Lab Assistant provides support to the teaching labs for Human Biology and similar courses. Responsible for the general operation, preparation, and maintenance of designated Biology laboratory courses on the Arnold campus. Maintains supplies, equipment, and lab instrumentation; prepares reagents; maintains the physical environment of the labs; and ensures compliance with established safety practices and hazardous waste procedures. Other duties as assigned by the Laboratory Manager.

Part-Time Faculty- Business

Business Management
The School of Business & Law at AACC is looking for a part-time faculty member to teach a face-to-face afternoon class this fall at South River High School in Edgewater or online synchronous course for Southern High School students in the morning. These are introductory business courses and will run for 15 weeks starting September 1st.
