Position Summary

The English Language Learning program is seeking part-time instructors to teach in our Community Interpreter Certificate program:

We are currently seeking instructors to teach evening classes in Arnold, or Hanover, MD.

Candidates invited for an interview will be asked to give a short teaching demonstration. Please mention your schedule availability and location preferences in your cover letter.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Instructors will teach WLS-325 and WLS-326 (Foundations of Community Interpreting Parts 1 & 2). In addition to teaching, instructors are responsible for:
assessing and recording student progress and attendance, meeting required deadlines for submitting grades and other administrative tasks, and participating in department professional learning events.

Required Qualifications:

-Bachelors degree (masters degree preferred)
-Language proficiency in at least two languages (ACTFL Advanced High or above, or equivalent)
-40-hour community interpreter Train the Trainer course, to be completed before or prior to June 30, with department funds to cover the cost of training (https://Iearn.tcio.net/ccc_engIish/the-community-interpreterr-internationa1-train ing-of-trainers-spring-2025.html)
-Professional simultaneous and/or sequential interpreting experience
-Adult education or teaching experience in both face-to-face and online formats

Part Time Faculty - Psychology

Psychology
The School of Liberal Arts is looking for part-time faculty who can teach in a face-to-face-capacity at least one course per semester and has experience teaching the following: Introduction to Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and/or Abnormal Psychology. Candidate must be experienced in online teaching with both synchronous and asynchronous formats, as well as hybrid delivery methods.

Lab Assistant/Biology
The Biology Lab Assistant provides support to the teaching labs for Human Biology and similar courses. Responsible for the general operation, preparation, and maintenance of designated Biology laboratory courses on the Arnold campus. Maintains supplies, equipment, and lab instrumentation; prepares reagents; maintains the physical environment of the labs; and ensures compliance with established safety practices and hazardous waste procedures. The Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) Certified Police Officer is tasked with protecting life and property at AACC. The Officer completes diligent vehicle and foot patrols of the campus parking lots, streets, and sports fields, campus buildings, classrooms, labs, offices, streets, fields, and parking lots, conduct criminal and traffic investigations, investigate crimes, write reports, interview and interrogate suspects, make full custody arrests, collect and preserve evidence, testify in court, maintain building security, enforce Criminal Law, Civil Law, Education Article, Maryland Traffic Law and Student Code of Conduct, train for active shooters, barricades, suicides and hostage situations, respond to despondent individuals, domestic violence incidents, Title IX and Cleary Act incidents.
