Position Summary
The Department of Communications in the School of Liberal Arts is looking for part-time faculty from diverse backgrounds to teach introductory level courses in public speaking, media, group and interpersonal communication. Course offerings include: in person during daytime, evening, or weekend hours · synchronous online, requiring virtual scheduled meetings · asynchronous online with no scheduled meetings In person courses are offered on the Arnold campus and at alternative sites including Arundel Mills (AMIL), Glen Burnie (GBTC) and various Anne Arundel County Public High Schools. This position requires regular in-person presence on campus and at alternative locations, depending on class schedule and other assigned duties.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member.
Teach all scheduled classes.
Maintain accurate records.
Assessing student progress in meeting the learning objectives through formal and informal assessment, meeting required deadlines for submitting grades, attendance, and other information, as requested, and adhering to safety procedures and departmental standards.
This position pays $3,510 to $3,789 per class
Required Qualifications:
A master’s degree in communications. Preferred: Five years of related professional experience. Previous college-level teaching.
