Position Summary
The Campus Information Assistant is a part-time, 20-hour or less, in-person position that supports the Information Center located in the Student Services Center. This role is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service by providing general assistance with enrollment and registration processes, guiding students on the use of MyAACC, and offering accurate directions to campus locations.The Campus Information Assistant also provides guided walking tours of the campus to prospective students, enrolled students, and other small groups. This position fosters positive communication and collaboration with faculty, staff, students, local non-profit organizations, and members of the Anne Arundel county. The position reports to the Information Center Agent.

Pay dates occur on the 7th and 22nd of each month. If those dates fall on a weekend, the pay date occurs on the Friday prior to the 7th and 22nd. As a temporary employee you are entitled to sick and safe leave benefits. In the best interest of the College, only individuals who are residents of Maryland or one of the following states will be eligible for employment at the college: Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia. The college will annually review this restriction and, if appropriate, expand the list of states of employment eligibility.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Use available databases to retrieve and disseminate information such as class availability and location and provide accurate information regarding Records and Registration, Admissions, Advising, MyAACC, etc, in-person at the Information Center. Assist customers in identifying and resolving problems. Consistently provide excellent customer service to visitors in a courteous manner. Cover Information Center desk as assigned and ensure coverage of desk at all times.
Provide personalized, engaging, and interactive campus tours for prospective students, school groups, and parents. Tours should be tailored to the audience and may include faculty-led presentations or demonstrations. Attend weekly tour update meetings and regularly review the tour manual to ensure accuracy and consistency. Support the onboarding of new tour guides by assisting with training. Assist with booking and confirming campus tours.
Work on special projects as assigned by the Manager of Information Center.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Six months to two years of relevant experience
Minimum one year customer service experience. Strong customer service, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required.
flexible schedule with occasional Saturdays to accommodate fluctuating staffing levels and the needs of the Campus Information Department.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), social media outlets, and website maintenance.
Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with students and the public. Ability to create and maintain a warm and welcoming front door experience. Ability to work collaboratively with others.
