Title: New Student Orientation and First Year Experience Assistant

Department: Student Engagement

Salary Range: $18/hour

Work Mode: This position requires some regular in-person presence on campus or at alternative locations, depending on business needs of the office.

Work Schedule: 25 hours per week

Position Summary

Coordinate planning details of NSO and FYE events; Assist NSO and FYE Specialist with facilitation of major events and workshops; Point person and facilitator for all FYE self-care workshops; Design and/or collaborate with OSE Social Media Specialist/Graphic Designer to produce advertisements for events; Assist NSO and FYE Specialist with NSO campaigns and Event Invitation/Reminder campaigns; Collaborate with OSE Social Media Specialist/Graphic Designer on NSO and FYE social media engagement;

Secondary Administrator for FYE Canvas page; Secondary Administrator for COMEVO: Online New Student Orientation; Answer dedicated orientation email account; Answer dedicated line; Other duties as assigned

The college will annually review this restriction and, if appropriate, expand the list of states of employment eligibility.

Pay dates occur on the 7th and 22nd of each month. If those dates fall on a weekend, the pay date occurs on the Friday prior to the 7th and 22nd.

As a temporary employee you are entitled to sick and safe leave benefits.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Optimum customer service; Strong collaboration and relationship building; Provide support to students experiencing difficulties resulting from transitioning to their first year of college; Trained to recognize red flags and need to refer to other college resources, i.e. counseling services, financial aid, advising, HelpLink, etc.; Provide timely response via email to student inquiries (less than 12 hour wait)

Required Qualifications:

Must be able to host/manage ZOOM meetings; Training preferred in COMEVO management and content development; Must be available for 25 hours a week during regular office hours; Must be available to work on-site; Must be available for occasional early evening weeknight hours
