Position Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directing the daily operations of the maintenance personnel. Serving as a working supervisor, the incumbent will oversee construction, renovation, maintenance and repairs of the college’s buildings/infrastructure. Responsible for ensuring all maintenance personnel are adequately trained and provided with the appropriate provisions to meet the requirements of the college community.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of building maintenance and conduct quality control inspections. Ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable safety codes and recommended best practices. Responsible for ensuring all building envelopes are congruously resistant to air, water, heat/cold, light and noise transfer. Assure building equipment/systems (BAS) are operated responsibly and maintained properly to optimize indoor air quality. Ensure space conditioning is within designated parameters for all college buildings. Close coordination with the Physical Plant engineers is required on Main Campus.
Manage work requests via TMA, assigning work orders to appropriate personnel and monitoring performance. Periodically review preventative maintenance performance to confirm the service is properly completed, e.g., filters replaced, belts tensioned or replaced, bearings greased, failed lights/ballasts replaced, etc. Provide the CMMS Technician with equipment replacements as they occur to ensure TMA records are current.
Maintain a comprehensive safety program in cooperation with the Manager, Workplace Safety & Risk Management.
Provide contractor oversight as necessary to ensure compliance with safety and college procedures. Provide guidance on the location of buried infrastructure to prevent inadvertent damage and/or system shutdown. Do not permit excavation on college property without prior utility designation by a qualified third-party locator. Support the Assistant Director and/or Director in the preparation of proposal requests from independent contractors for repairs and/or services. Serve as the project manager when appropriate.
Directly responsible for the training and annual evaluations of maintenance personnel. Develop training requirements covering best practices, safety measures, equipment maintenance and specialized skills. In cooperation with the CMMS Technician, maintain accurate personnel training, license and certification records. Support maintenance personnel by ensuring supply inventories are at or above PAR levels and expedite parts orders to minimize the impact on educational activities. Ensure maintenance personnel assume ownership of their assigned buildings, to include all aspects of maintenance.
Provide monthly updates to the Assistant Director and Director concerning project(s) status, work schedules and expenses incurred. Efficiently troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime.
This position is designated as Essential Personnel. The incumbent is required to assist in meeting the operational needs of the College during emergencies and college closures, as well as ensure continuity of strategic services. Assist with snow removal efforts at all locations.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
Minimum of five years of experience in trades, HVAC/R, plumbing, construction, electrical, and/or maintenance
Preferred Qualifications:
Trade license or certification. Ability to comprehend schematics, blueprints, CMMS and BAS. Specialized technical training in HVAC/R systems, Construction, Maintenance, Electrical or Plumbing required.

Pay dates occur on the 7th and 22nd of each month. If those dates fall on a weekend, the pay date occurs on the Friday prior to the 7th and 22nd. As an employee of the college, you are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.
