Position Summary

A successful applicant will demonstrate experience with the interdisciplinary and collaborative structures of the diverse professional work atmosphere within the built environment.
AACC is a tenure granting institution. Any candidate hired as a full-time faculty member may be eligible to apply for tenure in the future based on institutional eligibility requirements. This position requires some regular in-person presence on campus or at alternative locations, depending on class schedule and other assigned duties.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Commitment to student-centered teaching excellence with a diverse student body and in a variety of teaching formats

• Teach 30 faculty load hours annually during Fall and Spring
• 6 office hours per week
• Department, school, and college/community service
In addition to a faculty member’s primary responsibilities, the exceptional candidate will also demonstrate commitment and experience in one or more of the following areas:
1. Mentoring students from target groups; new full-time faculty; part-time faculty
2. Training and consulting for workforce initiatives (e.g., for public and corporate partners, etc.)
3. Developing and implementing community education and extended learning programs
4. Partnering with colleagues to enhance services to students and the community
5. Recruiting and marketing
6. Devising retention strategies and activities
7. Strengthening relationships and collaborative activities including K-12 and baccalaureate-granting colleagues

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or institution in a closely relevant field;
• 3 or more years of professional experience and hands-on technical background in one or more of the following fields are required:
o Workflow Automation, Vibe Coding, Finetuning AI models, Chatbot development
o Helpdesk operations
o Relevant Professional Certifications (ITIL, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Machine Learning, Python
• Combination of industry and instructional experience;
• Two years of teaching experience, preferably in community college setting;
• Experience with curriculum development and learning outcomes assessment; and
• Ability to work flexible hours and locations, including some weekends and evenings as needed.

Pay dates occur on the 7th and 22nd of each month. If those dates fall on a weekend, the pay date occurs on the Friday prior to the 7th and 22nd. As an employee of the college, you are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.

In the best interest of the College, only individuals who are residents of Maryland or one of the following states will be eligible for employment at the college: Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia. The college will annually review this restriction and, if appropriate, expand the list of states of employment eligibility.
